Hi guys, welcome to Miss Kelly Kwong Channel. I’m a speech therapist from Hong Kong and I’m accredited by Hong Kong Department of Health. I’m also an Executive Committee member of the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists making this channel because I want to share information on speech therapy. I know speech therapy isn’t really a big thing in China yet, so if you’re concerned with your kids language development, you don’t really have anywhere to go. But I am hoping to give you some assistance here.
I’m currently working as a speech therapist at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and throughout the years I received a lot of questions from parents such as. Oh, my kid. He understands a lot of things, but then he just can’t be bothered to talk to me.
So what should I do? Or, you know, with bilingual families, Some of them tell me that my kid is good at one language, his mother tongue, and he can’t really use the other language. But I want him to, So what should I do? There are also questions like Oh my kid can talk but then no one can understand him because his speech intelligibility or clarity is so poor. There are just tons of common questions and I know you probably have even more in mind.
